  • illegal agent in Australia, not approved by the TGA
  • acts on normal melatonin receptors to induce tan
  • they claim that a spray in each nostril every day for two weeks, then a lower maintenance dosage after that, achieves a natural tan that can last up to six months
  • has many adverse effects:
    • nausea, vomiting
    • flushing
    • acne
    • changes and growth in moles and potential to cause skin cancers
    • may rarely cause potentially fatal AKI or cerebral oedema
