Currently, the wiki is early in its development with much initial material to be migrated, please be patient as it will take time for it to become comprehensive.

The prime aim is to provide a web portal for Australian ED professionals so that they can rapidly find the information they need without being overloaded with unnecessary information. Thus, if there are already good resources on the web, then the wiki may just link to that resource rather than attempt to reproduce it. In addition, each hospital could create its own sections so that their intranet resources can be rapidly accessed by staff working within their intranet.

Interestingly, the UK emergency medicine physicians are embarking on a similar project - see EnlightenMe.

This is a wikipedia dedicated to Australian emergency medicine and currently in its infancy (created September 2008) and hopefully will blossom into an extremely useful resource for Emergency Medicine professionals, particularly ED trainees, by not only providing rapid access to the facts they need but also as a portal to rapidly access links to useful internet resources. I intend to broaden its current Melbourne-centric focus with the help of interstate authors.

NB. for some reason, this wiki template is sometimes not displaying the left and bottom columns in Internet Explorer v6, please use Firefox or IE7 for best display.

• find documents either via:
  • search function at top left - just type your search in the edit box and hit ENTER on the keyboard or the SEARCH button adjacent the edit box.
    • search results will be displayed in priority of:
      • a page being named similar to the search text
      • the number of times the search text is found on a page
    • NB. do not use partial words (this will only find page names with these not other pages containing these)
    • if you use multiple words in your search, only pages containing ALL of them will be displayed.
  • Index button above it to list all documents in this wiki.
  • drilling down the main categories
    • follow the category links on the main Wiki index page or on the LINKS on the left column.
